Seacoast does not provide housing for our programs
and yet since 1994 hundreds have chosen to join us
and have found ways to meet their budget and family
needs. We have welcomed course participants from
most states and every continent except Antarctica.
This provides our constituents with total control of
meal and housing costs. One advantage to our four
week sessions is to make time away from family and
accompanying costs manageable. Our flexible
seminar scheduling also allows participants the
opportunity to accumulate additional summer hours to
offset seminar requirements, a further step in
cost-savings.
Our sites in New Hampshire and Florida offer the
possibility of local motels, hotels, bed and breakfasts,
and campgrounds in a considerable price range.
Private accommodations, sublets, and short-term
rentals are commonly located through such sites as
Craigslist and rental companies. Prices in New
Hampshire and Florida reflect the popularity of each
area for summer recreation.
We maintain a list of commercial establishments
recommended by our recent graduates and provide
them upon request to applicants. We will also put in
contact individuals who would like to find a
room-mate or house-mate for a shared housing
search. For security purposes, this last courtesy is
available only after we have received sufficient
application information to know the individuals
involved.
It is common for course participants to book
individual accommodations for the first summer of the
program and to develop friendships that support
sharing vacation rentals for the second.
As always, if you have any questions or ways in
which we can be helpful, please contact Gary
Davidson, Course Director, via the Program office
email or telephone number (left). The Business Office
address is only for account information. If you you
have questions about specific locations, please let us
know. We cannot be responsible for your housing but
will make every effort to help you if we can.
Our New Hampshire site is located adjacent to
Portsmouth, within minutes of the beaches,
forty-five minutes to the mountains, and slightly
more than an hour northeast of Boston. It is a
reasonable daily commute to the greater Boston
area, southern New Hampshire, and southeastern
Maine. Many New England residents whose homes
lie outside daily commuting range choose local
motels for Monday-Thursday evenings and return
home weekends. This is also true of our Florida
location. Frequently motel and hotel rates will be
slightly lower on those nights than during high
season weekends.
